Proudly presented by Samford & Districts Progress & Protection Association. (SDPPA)
Samford celebrates the spirit of Christmas on Saturday 3 December. Christmas on Main Street will bring Samford Village to life from 5pm with a full evening of free entertainment and activities.
Live music and street entertainment kicks off at 5.00pm and runs through until 8.30pm.
This is the perfect evening to come down to enjoy the best of Samford’s local talent.
Kids' Activities
A special Storyland for children on the RSL lawns, with storytelling, books, activities & face painting
Entertainment
Street entertainers, performers, live music, a massed choral event & Christmas carols in three locations
Shopping & Stalls
Roving performers, face painting, food, craft stalls, & more local traders open all evening
Xmas Suprise
And watch out for a special surprise guest from a faraway place. Yule be amazed & the little deers too!
Local Musicians
Our Valley and surrounding areas are home to many gifted musicians, and Christmas on Main Street puts them on show. Enjoy live music performed by a dozen acts at outdoor stages, in and near venues, and busking style gigs up and down the street. 80 musicians in total to enjoy!
Roving Entertainment
As you wander along the street, be entertained by bubble blowers, angels on stilts and Christmas fairies. Listen out for our local Town Crier heralding all the fun activities we have planned. And don’t forget the flame thrower performing his incredible skills after dark.

You can make a beautiful Christmas decoration to take home as our gift. Join Pia and friends from The Cultural Crusader in Storyland at the RSL grounds, where you will find all the treasures you need to make this sustainable Christmas decoration.

Community Bank Samford Performance Stage
The newly refurbished stage at John Scott Park will shine with music and activity throughout the evening. Full music program with massed choir singing Christmas carols and songs, jazz and Latin bands, and the park will be filled with craft and community stalls from 5.00 – 8.30pm.

First Nations Welcome
Australia’s Dreamtime Diva, Auntie Delmae Barton again provides Acknowledgement of Country and a First Nations welcome for Christmas on Main Street.

Qld Music Award winners for Best Jazz Song, this cross-genre collaboration blends modern-folk song writing with finger style guitar and virtuosic jazz musicianship.

Christmas Carols & Songs
A brand-new event presented by the SDPPA and produced by Chris Bowen. Local professional Choral Director Nick Tyler leads a 40+ voice massed choir, singing your favourite Christmas carols, joined by talented soloists. Featuring local choirs, Samford Community Choir, Mt Nebo’s Peace ’n’ Choir, and Heartsong Choir. Soloists: Sharon Kemp & Monica Haworth.

Peace ‘n’ Choir, an a cappella choir with members from Mt Nebo, Mt Glorious, Samford Valley and surrounds. Songs from diverse vocal and cultural traditions and contemporary music. Core themes are love, environmental respect, and celebrating the human spirit.

A friendly, supportive group for all ages who encourage the love of singing in the beautiful Samford Valley. Songs embrace a wide range of modern and classical music. No auditions required and skills of all levels are welcome.

Amélie Farren
Indie Pop
A talented young Samford singer-songwriter, Amélie published her first songs in 2020. Playing guitar, piano, ukulele, and bass, Amélie released her first single at eleven and has collaborated with producers for Kate Miller-Heidke, The Church, and Selfish Sons.

Kate B & Alex McKean
Folk & Blues
Local identity Kate B teams up with top blues guitarist Alex McKean. They met at the Maleny Folk Festival eons ago. Expect quirky folk and blues songs, delightful vocals, multiple string instruments and a gentle groove to carry it all.

Mooey’s Landscaping Centre: Live music & kids activities
Don’t be surprised to hear lots of animal noises as you enter Main Street. Craig Doyle Real Estate and Mooey’s have gone all out so your kids can cuddle some baby animals at their farm. While you wait in line, you can have your face painted, eat some yummy food and be entertained by live music from Shazza Bell. The fun is from 5.00 – 7.00pm.

Sharryn Bell
Country Music Favourites
Talented singer / guitarist and a much-loved Dayboro local, Sharryn’s repertoire spans pop, rock, and country, from old classics to new favourites. She performs widely at Country Music Festivals, and across the Brisbane region.

Storyland presented by Samford Garage
The RSL grounds will be transferred into a magical Storyland for kids with interactive storytelling, activities, carols and a chillout zone from 5.10 – 7.00pm.

John & Tex Duo – popular guitar & vocals. Samford local John Hudson, from Brisbane combo Valley 109, picks up the guitar to share some chilled popular favourites. As the lights go down, be amazed by a spectacular flame-throwing performance.

Kobble Creek singer / songwriter with songs straight from the heart. Brisbane born Kelsey is also half of indie folk duo Freight Train Foxes, Queensland Music Awards blues & roots finalists.

Gav Cook (aka Semeil)
Alt-Folk
Gav has been making music for 10 years as both singer / guitarist of West End rabble-rousers The Mouldy Lovers and alt-folk collective Old Semeil, who released their debut album in 2021.

Reggae, Funk & Soul
Be wowed by rich Jamaican reggae, infused with soul, jazz, and funk, underpinned by the grooves of ska. Watch out for Highvale locals Tim LeFever on trombone and Dave Rule on bass in this seven-piece instrumental group.
